SCIENTIFIC WRITING

Scientific Writing course requires students to hone various skills, such as navigating reputable scientific journal databases, academic reading and writing, research methodology, academic literacy, and field and textual research management. In this course, students are also honed in basic writing skills, such as paraphrasing, synthesizing, citation, and documentation. These basic skills are integrated into manuscript writing activities, such as the introduction, literature review, and research methodology, findings and discussions, conclusion. To facilitate the process, students are trained to analyze the guideline manuscript to assess novelty, originality, research gaps, and research contributions. In addition, students learn to navigate and evaluate previous research to map the theoretical, conceptual, and empirical foundations. This course also guides students to recognize methodological issues required in writing the research methodology section. Students are trained to report research results/findings and discuss them. This course also equips students to evaluate and select target journals for their completed manuscripts. Thus, this course prepares students to publish their manuscripts in indexed journals
